Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Drew Robert Severn Fairman, and I have been playing baseball since I was old enough to walk. My parents tell me I would play baseball with anything I could find - even a pen would suffice as a bat, in a pinch. The picture here is from kindergarten. When I was just old enough to talk, someone asked me what my favorite sport was - as rumor has it, my response was: "football, baseball, soccer ball, any ball .." And so it began: my love of all things sports. The team picture above is very special to me. It is my travel ball team in San Diego in July of 2022 at our last tournament as a "Scorpions" team. I don't know how old I was when I became a Scorpion, but it was a long time ago. Some of my favorite people in the world are in this picture. It was taken after we lost by 1 run in the championship game of the USSSA World Series after a grueling week of games; I caught all but a few innings. After an emotional couple of hours, knowing it was the last time I would play with some of my closest buddies, we literally ran into the team that had broke our hearts earlier that evening. We played on Mission Beach, like old friends would - The Scorpions and the "winning" Bombers from Marin County. We made sand castles until shortly after midnight exchanging championship game stories and making new friends. The ending was not what I had hoped for, but it was a decent one nonetheless. In addition to baseball, I have always played a lot of other sports. Soccer has been an enormous part of my journey; I have played club, high school and with 3 all star programs (NorCal PDP, Cal North ODP and Northern Nevada ODP). Soccer is great conditioning for baseball. I also played 9 years of basketball, I have been skiing since I was 2, and I have played too many futsal games to count. I explored "sports without balls" a bit in middle school and dabbled in cross country and track. My specialty was the mile, and I am happy to report, my 8th grade mile time of 5:21 at the 2021 Tah-Neva League Championships, a PR and top 3 school record, still stands today. I also ran cross country (cross country is not my jam, for the record despite my top 10 finish at the championships Coach Confer!); I golf whenever I can (sometimes 3 rounds/week on a really good week!). I have even had the opportunity to caddy a Pro-Am. In my spare time, I work out at the gym, train with a personal strength trainer, and play air soft. A few photos of my extracurriculars may be found below. I am a 4.0 student at Galena High School in Reno, NV where I am earning an honor's diploma; I was accepted into the Engineering Program (a rigorous STEM Academy within my high school) my freshman year. If I had to come up with a few things that separate me from all the other great athletes that want to play DI college baseball, I would start with this: I am a well rounded player who is able to successfully play all positions on the field, with catcher and center being my favorites. And, I really love to steal bases. And, I am always eager and ready to play wherever my coaches need me. My first season playing high school baseball, I was voted Defensive Player of the Year, in part for playing every position on the field for the team that year. Many thanks for stopping by!
